Description:
Joey Avocado has attractive dark green evergreen foliage which emerges coppery-bronze in spring on a tree with an upright spreading habit of growth. The glossy narrow compound leaves are highly ornamental and remain dark green throughout the winter. It features subtle clusters of chartreuse star-shaped flowers with green overtones at the ends of the branches in mid spring. The fruits are showy dark green drupes with a deep purple blush and which fade to black over time, which are displayed in mid summer. The fruit can be messy if allowed to drop on the lawn or walkways, and may require occasional clean-up. The rough brown bark adds an interesting dimension to the landscape.
