A tufted grass like perennial that features a clump of arching, dark green leaves that hold their color through winter; long lasting, intensely purple flower spikes that are uniform in size; it is best massed as a groundcover or in containers; very hardy. Features dainty spikes of purple flowers rising above the foliage in late summer. Its attractive grassy leaves emerge light green in spring, turning dark green in color the rest of the year. It features an abundance of magnificent black berries in early fall.
